Scottsdale summers are brutal. With temperatures regularly hitting 110°F and beyond, a broken AC isn’t just uncomfortable — it’s a serious health risk. That’s why choosing the right HVAC company matters more here than almost anywhere else in the country.
We reviewed dozens of AC repair contractors serving Scottsdale in 2026, evaluating them on customer ratings, response times, pricing transparency, licensing, and local experience. Here are the five companies that consistently rise to the top.
How We Ranked These Companies
Every company on this list was evaluated against the same set of criteria:
- Customer Reviews — Ratings across Google, Angi, and HomeAdvisor
- Response Time — Same-day and emergency availability during peak summer heat
- Licensing — Arizona ROC licensed and fully insured technicians
- Pricing Transparency — Upfront estimates with no hidden fees
- Local Experience — Years of serving Scottsdale homeowners specifically

You’re not just another service ticket — you get experienced technicians who genuinely care about getting the job done right the first time. They service all major AC brands and offer a full range of services, including installation, repair, maintenance, heating, and indoor air quality solutions.
Their commitment is straightforward: fair prices, honest work, and keeping customers happy. 3. American Home Water & Air (AHWA)
4.9 Rating | BBB A+ Accredited | 35+ Years Experience
American Home Water & Air is a well-established name in the Scottsdale HVAC market. With over 35 years of experience and a BBB A+ rating, they’ve built a loyal customer base through consistently professional service and budget-friendly pricing.
They service all AC brands and handle everything from residential repairs to complete system replacements. Their 24/7 availability and fast response times make them a dependable option, especially for larger or more complex HVAC jobs. That said, as a larger operation, the experience can feel less personal than with a locally focused company like Oasis Air AZ, and wait times during peak summer months can be longer.
Strengths: Long track record, BBB accredited, affordable pricing, 24/7 availability
Things to note: Larger company feel, longer waits during summer
4. Scottsdale Air Heating & Cooling
4.7-Star Rating | Residential & Commercial | Duct Cleaning & HVAC System Replacement
Scottsdale Air Heating & Cooling is a recognised local contractor offering a wide range of HVAC services, including AC repair, duct cleaning, and full system replacements for both residential and commercial clients. They’re known for their thorough diagnostic approach and technical knowledge.
Customers appreciate the attention to detail during service visits. However, pricing tends to run on the higher side for standard repair jobs, making them a better fit for full system installations or larger commercial projects rather than routine fixes.
Strengths: Strong local reputation, commercial capability, thorough diagnostics
Things to note: Pricing higher than average for basic repairs, better suited for larger jobs
5. One Hour Air Conditioning & Heating of Scottsdale
4.5 Rating | Franchise Brand | On-Time Guarantee | 24/7 Emergency Service
One Hour Air is a nationally recognised HVAC franchise with a location in Scottsdale. Their standout feature is a punctuality guarantee — if they’re late, you don’t pay. Certified technicians, around-the-clock emergency service, and financing options make them a solid choice for homeowners who value consistency and brand reliability.
The trade-off is cost. Franchise pricing structures typically run higher than locally owned alternatives, and the service experience lacks the personal touch you’d get from a family-run company. Still, for straightforward repairs with guaranteed arrival windows, they’re a reliable pick.
Strengths: On-time guarantee, 24/7 availability, financing options, standardised service
Things to note: Higher pricing, less personalised experience
